Written by Jeff McMahon
Friday, 16 July 2010 07:40

The Outdoor Burn Ban that was imposed on July 7th has been cancelled.  Worcester County Fire Marshal Jeff McMahon cancelled the ban today, Friday, July 16, 2010.  FM McMahon cautions residents and visitors the drought conditions continue and the fire danger level is still high and urges all citizens who conduct outdoor burnings, regardless of the type, the law requires all fires to be constantly attended from ignition to extinguishment.  Precautions for having the proper tools and an ample water supply are also required.

FM McMahon stated, "Although there was a significant amount of rainfall during the previous week, the amount varied depending on the area of the County.  A continued or similar dry weather pattern would force the burning ban to return".
