The Worcester County Fire Marshal’s Office investigated a residential structure fire which occurred this date. The fire was reported at 06:01 am by an occupant of the structure. The dwelling was occupied at the time of the fire and both occupants were able to escape with no injuries reported. First arriving fire units reported fire extending from a three-story residential structure. Firefighters from the Snow Hill, Girdletree, and Newark Volunteer Fire Companies responded and quickly extinguished the fire. The dwelling involved in the fire is located at 207 South Washington Street, Snow Hill, Maryland 21863 in Worcester County. Firefighters remained on the scene for approximately one hour. The fire originated in the living room and was caused by venting of a wood stove. The fire is listed as accidental.
