TWO PEOPLE CRITICALLY BURNED IN AFTERNOON ACCIDENT

“The Worcester County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating an incident which occurred late this afternoon at 5:00 PM at the Miyako Japanese Steakhouse at 12902 Kelly Bridge Road in West Ocean City. The Ocean City Fire Department was dispatched for a reported fire alarm. Arriving units discovered two people had received burn injuries. The restaurant was not open for business and was in the process of preparing for their grand opening. A fire occurred while two subjects were working on gas cooking grills. According to initial reports, the two subjects were injured with second and third degree burns to 40% and 50% of their bodies, respectfully. The name of one of the subjects is unknown. The second is the owner of the restaurant, Bo Hao Zhu. Both were flown to the Bayview Burn Center in Baltimore. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.”
