AFTERNOON BRUSH FIRE AT BUSY RESORT CAMPGROUND
“ The Worcester County Fire Marshal’s Office investigated a fire which occurred at Frontier Town Campground in Berlin yesterday afternoon. The Berlin Fire Company was dispatched to the Campground at 4:45 PM for a report of a brush and woods fire. Upon arrival, Berlin Assistant Fire Chief Bryon Trimble reported the fire was at the tent camping area of the campground. The fire was actually located across an area of water, and access to the area had to be made by boat. The Ocean City Fire Company marine fire unit was requested to the scene but was not utilized. Upon further investigation it was determined the fire was started by children playing with fireworks. The fire is listed as incendiary and the case is closed. "
