West Ocean City Home Damaged By Fire

“The Worcester County Fire Marshal’s Office investigated a dwelling fire located at 12944 Shoal Drive, Ocean City, Maryland 21842 in Worcester County. The fire which was reported shortly after 6:00 P.M. Monday night did extensive damage to the 2 ½ story dwelling. The dwelling was occupied at the time of the fire. All occupants, including a family pet, escaped uninjured. Firefighters from the Ocean City and Berlin Volunteer Fire Companies responded and quickly extinguished the fire. The fire originated on the exterior of the dwelling when a “tiki torch” ignited surrounding combustibles. The fire quickly extended up the exterior of the dwelling and into the attic area. Firefighters remained on the scene for approximately 2 hours."
