Chicken House Destroyed By Fire
“The Worcester County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating a chicken house fire located at 1324 Hillman Road, Pocomoke, Maryland 21851 in Worcester County. The fire which was reported shortly after 3:30 A.M. Tuesday morning did extensive damage to the chicken house. 22,000 chickens were in the chicken house at the time of the fire. Firefighters from Pocomoke City, Girdletree, Stockton, and New Church Volunteer Fire Companies responded and quickly extinguished the fire. No injuries were reported. Firefighters remained on the scene for approximately four (4) hours. The fire totally destroyed the chicken house and all of it’s contents, including the 22,000 chickens. The cause of the fire is listed as undetermined. Anyone with any further information is asked to contact the Worcester County Fire Marshal’s Office at 410-632-5666.”
