Berlin Home Destroyed By Fire

“The Worcester County Fire Marshal’s Office investigated a dwelling fire located at 9719 Seahawk Road in Berlin. The fire which was reported shortly after 5:15 P.M. Thursday night did extensive damage to the two story residential dwelling. The dwelling is owned by Donald Morris was not occupied at the time of the fire. A family pet unfortunately perished in the fire. Firefighters from the Berlin, Ocean City and Ocean Pines Volunteer Fire Companies responded and quickly extinguished the fire. The fire originated in a second floor bedroom from improper use of extension cords. The fire quickly extended up the balloon style construction of the dwelling and into the attic area. Firefighters remained on the scene for approximately 2 1/2 hours."
