"The Worcester County Fire Marshal’s Office investigated a fire which totally destroyed an old canary building located on Franklin City Road on the Maryland and Virginia State Line near Greenbackville. The fire was reported at 4 P.M. and the first arriving fire units advised the building was fully involved. The building involved in the fire is owned by Lambertson’s Farm Inc. Firefighters from Greenbackville, Wallops Island and New Church, Virginia, as well as Stockton, Girdletree, and Pocomoke, Maryland battled the fire for approximately three hours. The fire loss is estimated at $100,000.00. The Fire Marshal’s investigation determined the fire to be intentionally set or ARSON. The Fire Marshal has charge one 11 year old female, who was released to her parent’s custody, and is looking for two more juveniles, a male 13 and a 14 year female, who fled the scene and area. All three will be charged with 2^nd Degree Arson, Malicious Destruction and Breaking and Entering."
