"Fatal Fire In Pocomoke City"

"The Worcester County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating a fire which may have claimed the life of a Pocomoke City man. According to Fire Marshal Jeff McMahon, the Pocomoke City Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched at 11:45 PM to a reported house fire at 1824 Sand Pit Road. Arriving units found a 20 foot RV travel trailer completely destroyed by fire. Neighbors reported a subject resided in the travel trailer and was believed to have been inside at the time of the fire. The fire was quickly extinguished and firefighters discovered a body inside the trailer. The travel trailer was used as a fixed residence and the subject located inside is believed to be the occupant. The name of the deceased is being withheld pending positive identification by the Maryland Medical Examiner’s Office in Baltimore. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. The Worcester County Fire Marshal’s Office is being assisted by the Worcester County Bureau of Investigations."
